A small room or cell in which a Maid of the Temple sleeps.
Drab
Term used by the people of the Outer for Maids who have left the Temple.
Drabcoat
Patchworked dress worn by Maids of the Temple.
Emberjar
Small pierced clay jar used to contain live embers to start fires.
Honeygold
A type of metal used in communication devices.
Kosso tree
Large shady tree with glossy foliage and red flowers.
Maid
Girl under the age of 21 who lives in the Temple.
Netela
Embroidered cotton scarf or shawl, worn over the head and shoulders.
OutFort
Living place where OutRiders are brought up from boyhood.
OutRider
Men who are responsible for the enforcement of the Queen's wishes.
Paradox tree
Common tree used for building, eating, medication and other items.
Physic
A man or woman skilled in herbalism who makes medicines.
Priestess
A woman over the age of 21 who leads and enforces the wishes of the Temple.
Strikestick
A rough stick used to strike a spark for a fire.
Soapball
A rough ball of soap, sometimes on a string.

A dangerous snake which spits in the eyes, like a spitting cobra.
Splitstick
A stick split at one end, used to twist fruit off the branch.
Temple
The site of religious affairs in Oramia. The home of the Goddess.
Toothtwig
A small fibrous twig used to brush the teeth.

A pouch or pocket attached to a thin belt, worn under the clothes
