Father Air

bee.png

Father Air lives in the mountains and the high places. Thoughts are represented by Air, invisible and found everywhere, carried far and wide like light seeds in the air. Father Air may be compared to the Kashiqi God Yael.

Father Air represents all flying animals except the bee, and is especially strong in the cloud eagles which soar over the high mountains of Berdea, like Mount Umoya where  Dehina, Guardian of the Air lives. Guardians of the Air often decorate themselves with strings of feathers to indicate their allegiance.

Father Air is sometimes shown with a bird resting on his shoulder, next to his head, to show the passage of thoughts.

The element of Air is represented in the Amulet by the air jewels, similar to the quartz crystals found throughout the world. Quartz can be found in a wide range of colours from pink through grey and yellow to transparent crystals.

The ceramic models of the Elemental family were made by me as I explored them in my writing, and as examples of what Brother Zaan's wood carving might have looked like. They are just one interpretation of an invisible entity.

Father Air is shown in his colours of yellow and white, his robes decorated with swirling patters, like the wind. He is shown with a bird perched on his shoulder to show the special relationship that Father Air has with the birds and other flying creatures.
