About the author

Veronica Garland is the author of The Emberjar series of books, which begins with Flammeus. 

She lives in the U.K. and is married with two grown up children. She has degrees in both Anthropology and Education, and was a teacher for many years before she decided to fulfil her life's ambition and write.

Her writing interests are embedded in her curiosity for life and how it is lived by people all over the world. She is passionate about the roles that women play in society and about the ways in which society enables them. Veronica is interested in many of the more difficult questions of life and in how a wide variety of her characters might respond to them.
